Attorney Profile
Jordan M. Lewin was raised in New York City. He attended New York University for his undergraduate studies where he concentrated in metropolitan studies and political science. His graduate studies brought him down to the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. After being awarded his Juris Doctor from UM in 2000 Mr. Lewin went on to begin his professional career at the Office of the State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial District in Miami-Dade County, Florida. As an Assistant State Attorney Mr. Lewin handled investigations, motion work, filing decisions and plea negotiations for thousands of cases which incorporated all types of criminal felonies. He has tried over 50 cases to verdict. In 2003 his practice shifted to being a managing attorney when he was promoted to Felony Division Chief and his trial work shifted to capital cases.
Since leaving public service, Mr. Lewin has continued to concentrate his practice of law in the area that most impassions him. His private practice consists solely of criminal defense work. Mr. Lewin has successfully tried dozens of cases as a defense attorney and has obtained favorable outcomes on countless others. His law firm balances trial work, appeals and post-conviction motion practice. This allows Mr. Lewin to continue to seek relief for those clients he did not necessarily represent at the trial level. He remains committed to exhausting all avenues of possible relief before turning a prospective client away, regardless of their current situation.
Jordan M. Lewin has been recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Super Lawyers Magazine in the area of Criminal Defense. His cases have been followed and reported by news publications: Miami New Times, NBC, ABC, The Sun-Sentinel, The Palm Beach Post, The Miami Herald, and A&E First 48.
Mr. Lewin prides himself on tackling the unique legal and factual issues that each case represents in different manners, utilizing creative legal strategies that are crafted to penetrate the vulnerable portions of the Government’s case. Every defense case has unseen strengths and every prosecution contains inevitable weaknesses. Jordan Lewin can help you find these hidden elements, and maximize their potential to help dispose of your case.
